WeatherBug is a component of the new AWS WeatherNet+ Convergence Suite that enables broadcasters to extend their weather brand to software, wireless communications and education applications and drive traffic to their web site. It utilizes AWS’ exclusive network of weather stations and the Internet to unobtrusively deliver live neighborhood weather conditions, personalized forecasts, camera images, radar and alerts straight to a viewer’s PC desktop. WeatherBug is designed to be skinable so that each partner station can customize the look and feel of the WeatherBug background, content and web site to match their own brand identity.
Our Review: WeatherBug is Internet weather forecast software. It provides on-line information about current temperature, humidity, pressure, rains and of course, forecasts. Additional information such as times of sunrise, sunset and moonphase can be obtained. Special features are on-line alerts with maps of the selected area, just like on real TV forecast. The main advantage is that the data is kept well up-to-date so it will be useful to people whose profession relies on the weather or those people who are sensitive to weather changes. The graphical interface is really good similar to some modern MP3 players. The price for such good features is banners in the main window which is something of a bargain considering the amount of information provided. This really good program has only one impediment: it's limited to the weather stations network so data is available only for USA.
This software's licence is Adware, which means that this program is an Advertiser-supported software that enables the author or developer to generate additional revenue. In many cases if you register your copy of the software the banner ads can easily be removed.
