Tell Me About Your Life, Dad is the first in a series of four tools for improving family communication and recording family members' histories. (The others are Tell Me About Your Life, Mom; ...Grandma; and ...Grandpa.) Some questions are supplied, but others may be added in the text editing area. NOTE: All of the questions, including the ones you haven't answered, appear on the text editing page. This is to remind you in case you accidentally forgot to answer one.
Take your time answering these questions. One question a day or one a week might be an appropriate goal. Be as honest and as thorough as possible. Put yourself in the reader's position -- what if YOU were the child and one of your family members was answering the questions for you? If you don't want to answer a certain question, don't. (Although a brief explanation as to why you don't want to answer it might be beneficial to the reader.) Also add any questions you wish you were asked but weren't.
Our Review: This is a fairly simple and easy-to-use program that simply contains a number of questions designed to facilitate communication between child and parents. The interface is fairly clunky but it works well enough for the program's purpose. The idea of using a computer to aid family communication is an interesting one but if this sort of thing appeals to you, be sure to have a look at this. Vesion 2.1 contains an additional reminder to save your text.
