Personal Finances 2000 is a great freeware program for tracking your current and future finances. It allows you to manage up to five separate checking accounts and five savings accounts. Adding deposit and withdrawal entries is very easy, and you can establish payees and sources of income. The main account component works much like a spreadsheet program. You can add, modify
and remove entries by moving your mouse to a desired column. To ensure accuracy, you can reconcile the program's financial data with your bank statement. Personal Finances 2000 will point out only outstanding items and display a "situation" report indicating the difference. By configuring the program to remember reoccurring events, such as monthly rent or utility bills, it will remind you when payments are due. With the financial forecast feature, Personal Finances 2000 is set apart from other shareware money managers.
Our Review: The theory behind this program is great! Unfortunately though, this ingenuity it let down by a somewhat tacky interface. For example there is an excellent facility for storing checkbook information, but the toolbar is ugly, ugly, ugly! Cool features include the ability to generate graphs, and a password protection facility. I look forward to future versions of this program.
