WinGate runs on a single Windows 95/98 or NT computer, and allows multiple users to access the Internet at the same time, through a single Internet connection. WinGate supports Internet connections of nearly any type, and the machine running WinGate does not have to be "dedicated" to the task. WinGate allows full transparent access for many popular programs, such as Netscape Navigator, MS Internet Explorer, Eudora, Netscape Mail, popular telnet and FTP programs, RealAudio, VDOLive and many, many more.
Our Review: A very useful program developed right here in NZ. Wingate allows people that are on your LAN to connect to the Internet using 1 modem. Microsoft does include proxy support via modem in the latest release of Windows but WinGate is more functional and supports more programs. It comes with both a server and a client program for you to run and can be installed in 3 different forms (standard, Pro or Home), depending on what you need. This version also debuts free plugins that can be downloaded from the website, and they extend the capabilities of Wingate by offering support for NAT, firewalls, content controls and more (depending on which of the plugins you install). WinGate is free to try for 30 days - after that you will need to register (minimum license starts at 3 users and there are various prices depending on which form of Wingate you have installed).
This software's licence is Shareware - Unlimited, which means that the current version is free of charge for now; no time or feature restrictions in this version.
If you wish to register and receive the full version of this Shareware - Unlimited program, it will cost you US$ 39.95
