itRings!
itRings! is a simple software that allows you to receive telephone calls directly at your computer and lets you talk with the person who is calling. You will be using the speakers and microphone attached to your PC and the caller will be using an ordinary telephone. If you don't have a microphone or speakers on your PC, you can use our pre-recorded replies to answer calls. If you are not online when you get a call, itRings! will take the message for you with our voicemail service. The message will be delivered to you the next time you connect to the Internet. Our Review: This is the client software for the itRings! service from eRing Solutions. With itRings you can still be connected while your phone is engaged and you are on the internet. The way it works is that callers ring your alternate eRing number and then a pop-up on your screen informs you that they wish to talk - at wish point you can accept and communicate through your soundcard or you can divert the call to your online eRing answer service. eRing recommends using itRings in conjunction with a call-forwarding service from your telecom provider to make the whole process seamless. itRings requires that you sign up for the eRing service but includes caller-id (without the need for your actual phone line to have it) and a message answering service.
