ICQ is a revolutionary, user-friendly Internet tool that informs you who's on-line at any time and enables you to contact them at will. No longer will you search in vain for friends or associates on the Net. ICQ does the searching for you, alerting you in real time when they log on. The need to conduct a directory search each time you want to communicate with a specific person is eliminated.
With ICQ, you can chat, send messages, files and URL's, play games, or just hang out with your fellow 'Netters' while still surfing the Net.
Our Review: Yes! It's the new version of ICQ, packed with all sorts of new cellphony and telephony features in order to keep up with one of its main rivals, MSN Messenger. It now has fully featured SMS messaging with the ability to have cellphone users reply directly to your contact list. You can also have users who don't have ICQ on your list, and use ICQ as general address book. It has integration for Outlook 2000, so you can communicate directly from that (just like with MSN). It comes bundled with a Net2Phone powered telephone so you can make phone calls to people on your list, and use your ICQ UIN for your phone number. You can also leave pager messages and heaps more! This new version is a lot less buggy that 2000a as well, so you wont have to reload as often. One problem though, is that many of the phone features don't seem to work anywhere other than America, but the sms messaging does, so it's OK. ICQ 2000b is well worth a download!
