Our Review: I really liked using this FTP server - on first running BisonFTP it was immediately obvious that this server is robust, user-friendly, and has many useful features. Designed for running any sized operation, BisonFTP includes the ability to use 'triggers' which allow the server to issue special commands should a file be uploaded or downloaded. This allows integration with an antivirus utility or any other external program that you wish to trigger. Multiple users and groups can be created - each with their own optional log file and cryptographic protection (the BisonFTP Client allows the use of certificates). Also high on the impressive list of features is anti-hammer protection - which prevents users from repeatedly trying to connect to the server when busy. The anti-hammer protection allows you to specify a limit to the number of connection-attempts in an interval and inforce a ban on that user for a few minutes. Optional Scheduled operation (allowing BisonFTP to dial-up your ISP and operate only at certain times) and hardcore encryption-security make BisonFTP a trustworthy server.
