Once upon a time, when the internet started to become the information highway that it is today, people dreamed of a place where information could pass freely and easily. They imagined a place where information could be exchanged within seconds, between people who had never met. We at iMesh took that dream seriously, and have developed a simple tool, which will let you download other user’s music, film, graphics and document files. We wanted it to be fast, simple to use, and free for all. After releasing our first version of iMesh in 1999, it was immediately downloaded by millions around the world, and our user pool continues to grow. Users choose iMesh due to its patent pending technology, which allows them to access and share information directly form one desktop to another, rather than through servers. Because iMesh is a file based rather than a web based application, it searches millions of shared files and downloads them quickly. This eliminates the problems of traditional file sharing, such as broken links, slow downloads, and busy FTP sites. Unlike other search-by-media web sites, iMesh enables users to find and share any type of file: music, multimedia, photos, software, source files, school assignments, anything at all within the scope of legal limitations. However, we at iMesh are not sitting on our laurels. We are constantly striving to improve iMesh’s usability, and add new and interesting features and upgrades, while keeping it simple, friendly and fast. It is our goal to become the best, most widely used desktop file sharing application worldwide. Our Review: iMesh is basically an online file sharing client that allows you to swap a variety of different sorts of files among other iMesh users. Searching from the iMesh website will scan all the currently connected users and display the available files. The file list will increase with users, so get downloading. A possible alternative to Napster, iMesh can be used to find and download MP3s or basically any other type of media file. Heaps of cool skins are also available - variety is the spice of life after all. Can be a little fiddly to initially connect and register, but once that is over with, there is a lot of potential for this handy file sharing client. Version 2 has a built-in mp3 playlist as well as support for parents to restrict what their children can download using iMesh.
