DUAX 98 Lite is a simplified implementation for Windows 98 of the previous version (Duax11.zip) that would only run under Windows 95 with the original dial-up networking component installed (not with the newer DUNs v1.2 or v1.3). Though it has fewer features (no easy way to modify the soundfiles, no logging, no connection speed indication), the main purpose of the program (sounding an audible alarm when an Internet connection is established or broken) is of course maintained.
Our Review: Duax 98 is very similar to Duax 11, although it is more user friendly and includes a setup program that will install it in your computer for you - a big improvement on the previous version. A bit skimpier on the features front, as would be expected for a lite version, its excellent performance in monitoring any internet connections remains unaffected.
