ICB is a unique graphical network monitoring and reporting tool for Windows™ computers. ICB is a program to: measure the up- and downstream speed of a network connection such as the internet or an intranet, either through a modem or direct network connection; analyse the performance of network connections over a given period of time; measure the total amount of traffic in and out of the system or through a particular network interface; see how your computer or remote server performs when accessed from different parts of the world; save, retrieve and print 3D scalable graphics of analysis data; generate, print or publish daily, weekly or monthly HTML reports with graphs and tables; set alarms to warn when measurements violate certain bounderies, either by launching a program, sending an email message, launching a cgi script on the web or sounding a beep; view TCP/IP network statistics Our Review: ICB (stands for Internet Connection Benchmark) is a tool that displays information on the status of your internet connection. The Wizard option makes initial setup simple and the program kicks into gear nice and quickly. You can choose from 4 easily interpretable graphical representation types for viewing your live or historical average data, all of which are nicely set up for printing. The helpfile is not the best in terms of explaining the program itself but there are some nice links included for beefing up on your back ground knowledge. Some of the digital representations are a little hard to read but overall, ICB 2000 is pretty good.
