ChatPOP!
ChatPOP! moves the dull text-based scrolling of IRC into a virtual chat room, where the avatar you select moves among other chatters. Turn around, walk the room, express emotions, and chat face-to-face with others. Choose from the available chat rooms, many with links to Internet sites and additional activities such as games, or design your own room with the scene editor. There are only a limited number of avatars to choose from and you can't personalize your avatar clothes or complexion. The conversation level can be typically immature, but the ability to move and interact makes this a cut above basic chat. Note: There's no documentation yet, and the number of ChatPOP! users is limited so far. Our Review: Very unfortunate. From what we were able to see, ChatPOP! has some great graphics included and would be straightforward enough once it was up and running. Therein lies the problem. On repeated attempts from multiple reviewers, the program just would not run. Even the website was inaccessible. If anyone out there can get this one going, please let us know as we'd love to have a go.
