This is FTP Serv-U version 2.5b, a flexible FTP server (or Daemon) that is easy to set up for MS-Windows (Win3.1, WFW3.11, Win95, Win98, NT). It turns any PC with a network connection into a FTP site on the Internet. This particular program is meant for PCs running MS-Windows that have a WinSock version 1.1 compatible TCP/IP stack installed. This includes Windows for-Workgroups 3.11, Windows 95, Windows 98, and NT. Our Review:This is simple to set up. A very stable FTP server for 16-bit and 32-bit Windows systems. Many security options are available: each user can have separate read/write rights for each file/folder. FTP Serv-U also supports multiple IPs for the same machine, running multiple FTP servers with one instance of FTP Serv-U. The interface could be more modern-looking but this does not detract from the high level of functionality offered. |
