SubLINK V2.0 is an encrypted chat client for a Windows 98/95/NT/2000 Network. The prefix 'Sub' in the title is to denote that SubLINK operates under standard protocols on a system level. Rather than communicating over standard protocols such as TCP/IP, NetBEUI, or IPX/SPX, SubLINK communicates over system-level communication routes called Inter-Process Communication (IPC). IPC is built into Windows and is used by Windows to communicate system-level requests. SubLINK clients can be installed on any Windows 98/95/NT/2000 machines on your LAN. By using encryption and IPC methods, SubLINK communication across your network is the most secure way to chat on your intranet.
Our Review: SubLINK is an intranet/LAN chat client. There are two main comments to be made on this application: firstly, because it uses IPC, it is more 'security smart' than programs that use protocols such as TCP/IP; secondly, the interface is terrible. It is colourful, and looks something like a windowed DOS application. Basically this program looks bad, but it's got it where it counts.
