Ad Muncher is a small, efficient and reliable patch for Netscape and Microsoft browsers. Installation takes only a matter of seconds and can be used immediately (Internet Explore requires reboot). Once installed, Ad Muncher will sit on your taskbar watching what your browser downloads, and if it finds an ad, it removes it before your browser sees it, simple as that. Ad Muncher uses a combination of advanced heuristic ad detection techniques, allowing for deadly accuracy, and preventing it from interfering with non-advert material. Ad Muncher is not only a banner remover, but also a popup window remover (removing only known advertising popup windows and leaving others alone) and an embedded midi file remover (don't you hate it when a midi file starts playing while you're browsing?). Our Review: If you become nervous when you see agressive adds on the Internet which make your connection slower and distract your attention from useful content, then this small application might be helpful. It acts as an advanced content filter and does it's job smoothly in the background. You can add in keywords and websites to block as well to prevent popups. It can be customised with extra 'href' tags to prevent as well. It's good value for the price.
