GuruNet is a free instant lookup service. GuruNet uses patent-pending technology to analyze the context of any word on your screen and choose the closest match from a huge selection of concepts. The GuruNet window opens automatically, displaying information about the concept. Choose from various information tabs to view different kinds of information about the word. Depending on the word you clicked, you'll get reference (e.g. dictionary, encyclopedia) and/or real-time information (e.g. news, sports, stock quotes). Our Review: Two thumbs up. GuruNet is a very quick and powerful search client for keywords and acts as a dictionary, encyclopedia, world map and more! You can either enter a word in a search on Guru's interface or highlight and right-click+alt any word anywhere. Whether it be on a web page, text file, you name it, GuruNet will hunt the internet for any information regarding the word. Results are found very quickly and this is a must have for anyone doing research, students or anyone wanting to find the meaning of anything. Has a very helpful tutorial as well.
