JProxyma is a state-of-the-art proxy server written in Java. It is compatible with Sun Microsystems Inc's JDK 1.1 and 1.2 and can be used on any platform for which JDK 1.1 or later is available.
JProxyma supports the following Internet protocols: HTTP, FTP, SOCKS 4 & 5, SSL, Telnet, NNTP, POP3, IMAP4, SMTP, Real Audio & Video, and IRC. An additional feature, Mapped Link, allows JProxyma to work with many other protocols, which are not directly supported. Among JProxyma's features are a high-performance HTTP cache, built-in firewall security, a remote monitor, and most importantly, the ability to act as a JINI service in a JINI environment. These features make JProxyma especially suitable for home networking, mobile network access, and pervasive computing applications. JProxyma is an essential element in many networked systems of the future.
Our Review: This proxy server runs on Java, meaning it is portable to other OSes. JProxyma is an excellent piece of software, supporting all common protocols, useful for connecting several computers to the Internet via a single Internet connection. Easy to install with enough documentation to get you going.
