Arlington Custom Browser lets organizations brand and customize a browser to their own requirements including the ability to restrict access to the internet or their intranet via a password protected and encrypted list of favorites, and to simultaneously prevent access to the options menu, operating system and other programs. To make administration easy for kiosk sites, the favorites list and other options can be automatically loaded from a central URL each time the browser starts. You can choose from a set of predefined toolbars or make your own using any HTML editor. You can log web sites accessed, prevent downloading of programs and zip files and disable popup windows. You can set an inactivity timeout and optionally disable the address box and favorites menu.
Our Review: Custom Browser is a browser for the Internet, one that is quite small but well presented. It has everything that you would want, and is at least as customizable as other web browsers available. The big bonus here seems to be the way you can lock people out of the other programs and the windows system, or allow them to view only sites on your favorite lists, etc. Small businesses, or even larger ones, might find these features desirable (for setting up an internet kiosk, as you might find in a cyber cafe). It is amazing that they have packed all these sorts of features into such a small package - have a look!
