So many users out there are looking for a way to tap into the richness of the binary newsgroups, but have found it either too difficult, or in some cases impossible. Others have managed to sift through the FAQs, and the various cryptic posts, and come up with the secret to retrieving and decoding this binary data, but find the process to be tedious and often unmanageable. The purpose of Binary News Assistant is to bring binary retrieval and decoding to the desktops of all users by making it as easy as possible. And for those of you that have already discovered your system for binary retrieval, we have incorporated a number of features that can help to automate the process, saving you time, money, and bandwidth. Our Review: Ok, well, this program displayed an error the first time I loaded it up, and consequently displayed that error every few screens, and none of the 'get headers' buttons seemed to work at all, but perhaps that's just a problem with our proxy. Otherwise, Binary News Assistant is a good looking piece of software. With filters to block out unwanted headers, and automatic and batch binary decoding. It has options to download flagged files and lots more. Good, but buggy.
