Drag And File is a power replacement for the Explorer program that comes with Windows Drag And File Gold is a special version of Drag And File that in addition to Drag And File contains a specially integrated version of our Zip file manager Drag And Zip. When you are running Drag And File Gold, ZIP, LZH, TAR, GZ, CAB and more types of archives will appear as folders on the directory tree. When you highlight one of these folders, the contents of these folders will appear in the file window. You can treat these file listings just like they were regular files. You can select them and copy, view, move, and delete them. The file will be extracted from the archive automatically and the operation will happen just like with regular files. To create a Zip file all you have to do is select the files that you want to Zip and click on the Zip button. Drag And Zip will come up and you can make the Zip file. Our Review: Drag & File Gold is a cool little utility that does quite a good job of out-classing windows explorer. Resembling File Manager more than the new Explorer, Drag & File Gold is a multi-purpose windows exploring/FTP browsing/Zip opening monster that has almost any feature to keep even the most hardened windows geek happy. It can browse FTP sites which I find especially useful, and has a full range of Host Emulations so you will never be confronted by an unbrowsable site. Like linux, Drag & File Gold has support for browsing archives as directories which means that the process of extracting specific files is a lot less hassle. As I mentioned a bit earlier the interface is looking a little dated; but on the whole Drag & File Gold is a top quality program!
