Customizer 2000 is a special utility which is designed to optimize Windows 95/98/Me performance. The program lets you explore the many hidden settings in Windows, and make changes. Modifying a setting simply involves reading a helpful description, and clicking a checkbox. Customizer 2000 allows you to change boot-up options, as well as your registered name and organization, and the location of the Windows directory. You can also have unknown file types automatically opened with Notepad; enable a CD-ROM cache;
customize the Start Menu; and remove the arrows from your desktop shortcuts. In addition, the program includes an Internet optimization function which can improve your modem throughput.
Our Review: Customizing the many different aspects of Windows has never been as easy as with Customizer 2000. Included is the ability enable/disable many annoying things about windows such as the splash screen, safe-mode, startup diskscan, extraneous start-menu items, odd Internet Explorer behaviour etc. You can also use Customizer 2000 to remove items that wouldn't otherwise delete from your add/remove panel, add items to right-click menus, change the default IE search engine and much much more.. . All customizations are easy to implement and just as easy to un-implement so there is little risk involved. Customizer 2000 is one of, if not the best, tweaking programs available - an essential download.
