12-Wash offers secrecy and concealment for visited websites, and files used during a Windows session. It removes tracks deliberately, even where other programs fail, for example, cleaning out traces in the registry. And with the integrated shredder, no trails are being left over of any compromising or confidential information. The new version, 21.02, allows personal files and individual registry keys to be removed. You can not only delete single registry values - you can also set new registry values. It also deletes the "index.dat" files (used by Internet Explorer) that contain all Internet addresses of all websites you have ever visited. 12-Wash does this without restarting the computer, which is not otherwise possible in Windows or with any other tool! There are two more tabs to clear common tracks you leave when working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and FrontPage, as well as smaller apps like WinZip, ACDSee or CuteFTP. Our Review: 12Ghosts Wash is a very handy utility designed to remove the "paper-trail" that is left behind when using Windows. Options are included to remove document listings from not just the recent documents menu but also from similar menus within specific applications such as WinZip, CuteFTP, and Word. The Find Files history and Temp items folders are also purged and an active shredder ensures deleted items stay deleted. 12Ghosts Wash even goes into the registry to remove traces of your activities. Excellent anonymity maintenance.
