Get a Microsoft 'Best Choice Shareware' awarded File Manager. Use FileQuest to manage files and folders on your computer. This fine Explorer replacement handles all Explorer's tasks in a similar and very familiar interface -- and brings a number of additional tools to the table. It's well-documented, easy to use, and readily adapted to your particular needs. It supports multiple users and allows each user to customize the program to a high degree. You can add favorite utilities to one custom menu, and add favorite folders to another. You can easily create virtual folders to find particular types of files by employing filters, date, and size criteria. You can even set up rules for particular types of searches, such as large or zero-byte files. Once established, these searches are simple one-click affairs. You can even set up the program to open multiple folders in multiple windows. Other features include file selection by filter, custom sort, custom view, custom confirmation, and bookmarks. A separate version of the program, FileQuest Lite, does not include network support. Our Review: FileQuest has all of the features of FileQuest lite plus network support. A good feature is the E-Mail feature, much like the send to user feature of ICQ - you can click on a file or selection then click the mail button and it opens the default mail client and sends it away. This latest version includes the ability to 'text search' and to search across multiple drives.
