Do You Know How to Capture Text from the Screen? What about folder trees, file lists, database reports, messages and dialog boxes, menus, status lines? visible text of legacy systems? Answer: Kleptomania. Select text in any (even clipboard-unaware) application, and then copy-paste to your favorite editor, launch internet browser or email editor, sum numbers, count a number of words/characters and more. Based on the Direct Klepting technology. Easy, Flexible and Reliable!
Our Review: While Kleptomania grabbed my attention as soon as I saw its name, the actual programs turns out to be just as intriguing. Capturing text might sound like a routine kinda thing, and most people are familiar with the old ctrl+c and ctrl+v when it comes to copying words from one place to another. However there are many places where this simply cannot be done. The most frustrating is in Windows Explorer where there is no way to capture all the file-names at once, other times programs don't let you select the text, and sometimes the text is actually an image. Thankfully, with Kleptomania running quietly in your system tray you can quickly and effortlessly select and capture text from any source and bung it in your clipboard. There are several capturing modes available and a good range of options once you have it, offering you different text formats and even a run-down of how many lines, words and characters you've got. Fantastic.
