SIGuardian - is a disk utility, that helps you to check health status of your hard drives, prevent data loss and predicts hard drive lifetime. SIGuardian uses S.M.A.R.T. technology, included in all modern hard disks and in ATA standards. S.M.A.R.T. is an industry standard for monitoring and reporting fault conditions in a peripheral storage device, whether from damage or normal wear-and-tear. But keep in mind, what S.M.A.R.T. is only advisory service and never should be used as replacement of backup. Our Review: If you have a bios with SMART IDE support and it is enabled then this is probably one of the best pieces of monitoring software you can get for it. SIG will not consume performance and it can provide useful statistics for you. SIGuardian will sit on the system tray and run in the background monitoring your hard drive for errors such as read errors, spin, powering, retries, and the rest. A great way to monitor your hard drive and ensure that problems with it will be kept to a minimum. This update not only updates the engine but also addresses some cosmetic issues - allowing you to resize the windows and columns more to your liking.
