Cleanstart is a program to run other programs, delete-edit-create registry keys and values and
copy-delete files every time windows starts or once everyday. It is useful to delete temporary files, and other registry entries like new items on the new menu in explorer. You can also keep other programs from changing associations and can empty find, run, install MRU lists and the Typed paths
and Urls list. Also, mp3 and files can be played which can be used as a delayed indicator that
even the other programs have loaded. Also, you can send keystrokes to other programs such as demo programs which show a nag-screen on windows startup. Finally, swap files and other system files can be deleted through a special mode after every number of days.
Our Review: A hideous interface and incredibly restrictive 'options' make Cleanstart a dog of a program to use. It does, however, perform a few useful tasks that, if you are lucky enough to be able to make use of the exact option it offers, might save you a little time. Cleanstart can be configured to automatically execute programs, type in text, play media files, copy/delete files, add/delete entries from the registry, and clear Explorer histories each time your boots. As I say - if any of these functions suits your needs then you might be able to trust Cleanstart - but it ain't pretty.
