Login Shield is the only windows login replacement in existence that doesn't make you use a complicated, and unfamiliar interface to login to windows. An exclusive feature to this software is that you don't have to remember passwords if you don't want to! Why did we create this program? We made it to solve several of the inherent windows shortcomings that currently exist. If have you tried in vain to secure your system with "User Profiles", you know all too well about the frustration and helplessness. Anyone can turn on your computer and then press "Cancel", ESC, etc. to bypass the login without being required to type his / her username and password! We replaced that ridiculous "Cancel" button with a "Shutdown" button. Now which one makes more sense to you? What's more is that without this program you'll probably never know that anyone used your computer until something goes horribly wrong! This is very likely if you are sharing an apartment, house, live in a college dorm, etc. Why take the risk? Gone are the days when we should settle for the little security that windows provides. Take a closer look and you won't be disappointed! Our Review: Login Shield is an alternative to the "Windows Login" dialog box that addresses some of the shortcomings of the Windows default. Login Shield has a similar (but strangely 'friendlier') dialog box and can manage multiple logins. Login Shield allows you to specify a 'system' password when you install the program - from that point you can create new logins simply by validating 'incorrect' logins with your system password. Login Shield also replaces the archane 'cancel' button of its Windows equivalent with the more sensible 'shutdown' option. Other features include the ability to restrict who can boot to "safe-mode" and a key-disk option that allows the admin to bypass passwords if he possesses the key-disk. Not too shabby.
