Navigate easily through Windows folder maze with FileBox eXtender buttons placed on standard Windows file boxes. Access your favorite and recently visited folders and documents with one mouse click or hot key. Make the file boxes bigger to see more folders and files. Optionally FileBX buttons can be also placed on Explorer windows or accessed from the system tray. New in ver. 1.4.1 - ability to define "exceptions" - programs that FileBX should not handle, or should handle in a special way. Fixed a dealy in tray menu display on some machines.
Our Review: FileBox eXtender is a utility that novice would-be-power-users might find useful as an alternative to the start menu in Windows. FileBox eXtender appears as a small icon in your systray - clicking on it brings up a shortcuts menu to your favourite programs/folders etc. FileBox eXtender can do some tricky things with shortcuts - most notably its ability to launch a program and THEN open a document from within that program (the process of which is described in the manual). FileBox eXtender is so named as it also has the ability to enlarge file save/open dialog boxes for markedly easier viewing. Handy, but not indispensable.
