EFCat is a powerful program that help you
to catalog all your drives (CD-ROMs,...).
Browse and handle like folders the ACE,
ARC, ARJ, CAB, GZIP, LHA, RAR, TAR, TGZ,
ZIP and ZOO arhives. Extract automaticaly
descriptions from files like MP3, executables
or FILE_ID.DIZ.
Our Review: EF Catalog at first appears to be a simple catalog utility - much like all the other similar utilities. However, a closer inspection reveals that this little beast can explore the contents of a wide variety of compressed archives, and can automatically extract tag information from your mp3 collection. Drives and directories can be grouped and categorised - with the program allowing you to create parent groups (eg: Games, Music) in which to add your collection of directories. EF Catalog knows its own worth - which is demonstrated by the sometimes annoying nag screen. But for all these features there is no way to truly know the ins and outs of EF Catalog - the help file was non-existent and the need for contextual help is drastic. Otherwise quite a compelling download.
