Clean Star removes excess files left by software installations, web browsers, and printer activity. Removes common temporary files and is user customizable to remove specific file types as determined by the user/user's software. All identified files are placed in the Windows Recycle Bin for user review & confirmation. It is easy and safe to use on all Win 95/98/NT systems. Our Review: Well - the claim of Clean Star on their site is that this piece of software is easy to use - a claim that is almost true except for the fact that the interface is blocky and cluttered by a moving picture of a constantly exploding star - making the whole experience somewhat annoying. The program also seems to work on the premise that anything Clean Star insists can be deleted should be deleted - there's no option to selectively choose which files to leave untouched. This program essentially performs the same task as using the Windows explorer to find all files with *.bak and *.tmp extensions except it's much, much slower.
