Screen Guard
Program 'Screen Guard' designed as a security software for your PC. There is developed special protected mode, when your desktop becomes covered by false (disabled) desktop or by your own picture, keyboard becomes disabled and PC can leave the protected mode by entering the password (in the dialog box, which appears after the right mouse clicking or user-defined hotkey pressing). There is two passwords (since the version 1.2) - administrator's and user's ones. Admin's (the person, who installed and registered the Screen Guard) password is primary, while user's one is secondary. Timer feature lets the administrator to control the time of work sessions and to access the events journal. PC can enter the protected mode using this timer settings or can be turn off (with the correct quit from Windows). There is also very useful overseer feature, which helps you to protect certain applications and programs - by denying their run. Also the events journal provides you with a useful information: start time of Windows session, start time of Screen Guard session, length of your PC's work session (both the protected and unprotected modes), number of incorrect password attempts, number of reboots during the desired period and many other info. Journal file is well-protected (in the disk structure), and isn't easy to find. Actually, there isn't just a single file, and all information is mirrored. Version 1.2 also includes all the features from the previous versions: 1) Protection of Wi Our Review: Screen Guard appears to be a rather badly written piece of software designed to lock your pc when you're away. However, the English used throughout the program is terrible (See the Developer Description!) so it feels like you're flying blind when using it. All in all, Screen Guard isn't really worth the download trouble. Stay away.
