Idem automates file synchronisation and replication.
It secures critical data duplicating them from one computer location to another. It is a good solution for "mirroring" important folders from a Windows NT server toward another. Idem checks a list of source folders at regular time interval and updates target folders with new or modified files.
Idem is distinguishable from other expansive mirroring or clustering products by its ability to fully preserve Macintosh filenames and structures stored on a Windows NT server.
Also a Windows NT/2000 Service.
Our Review: Idem automates the task of creating mirrors of files selected by the user. Thus copies of important files and folders can be sent to a remote computer at designated intervals. The interface is not very well designed, although this in no way inhibits the program's performance. Has a very advanced file core that allows the mirroring even of files that are open and in-use, and includes file-syncronisation support for macintoshes, and laptops. Overall, very useful.
