System Enhancer 2001 can dramatically improve your system's performance. You can add security to your system, tweak Outlook Express, Internet Explorer, and Windows. Additional tweaks include being able to add more security to Outlook 2000, and increase your modem speed. There are over 100 new functions available for Windows -- such as increasing cable modem speed, removing unwanted installation entries from your Add/Remove Programs list, and restricting access to almost everything. Network functions are also available. You can force users to log on to Windows, create permanent desktop folders, change your default source viewer for Internet Explorer, and restrict access to your event log. Security features let you disable Regedit, Find files, Run, DOS prompts, and more.
Our Review: For those of you that like to squeeeeze every little last bit of performance out of your machine then System Enhancer is the program you want. With options to improve nearly every facet of your systems performance and increase security in several important areas System Enhancer is real must for most home users. Negotiating the menus for each tweak is a little contrived though - and there is no indication of the current state of the tweak you are looking at. But besides that, System Enhancer has some good tweaks - including the ability to add a password box to Outlook Express.
