Ultimate File Finder allows you to find files on your hard drive using the technology similar to the one used by the WWW search engines. First, it crawls your hard drive and builds index on the text files it can find. After the indexes is built, you can find files by keywords very fast (it usually takes about 10-60 seconds, unless you have some huge text files). Our Review:This application builds onto the Windows original file "Find" and replaces it with a search on file extension types. The user can then exclude or include file extension types. The main trouble with this sort of search is that it only searches on extension type and not the actual file name. This can be handy for experienced users, but does not offer a lot to the beginner. A nice backup for finding those elusive .grr files with numerical file names. |
