Speak will make your computer even more helpful and entertaining than ever. Speak will use Microsoft Agent Animated Characters to read your text for you. You can tell Genie (as an example) to read your documents, emails, web pages or any text in the clipboard. Just keep the cool animated character on top of your desktop and click on him whenever you want him to read for you. Control the speed and pitch and enjoy many characters with different expressions and animations. Speak supports voice recognition. Speak can run your applications by voice commands you provide. Speak will also remind you of your appointments with Speak Reminders. Our Review: This program belongs to the new generation of applications with improved human-computer interaction (HCI). Speak & Mail 2000 can communicate using sounds, for example, reading things out to you such as text documents and Email. Provision for voice recognition is also included that lets you operate Windows by your own voice, provided you download and install the required software. This option might be very helpful to people with certain disabilities. Speak & Mail 2000 has a wide range of options including a variety of different voice types, a reminder function that reminds you when an appointment, etc. is coming up, and it'll even tell some jokes. The little Wizard dude guides you through the program, tells you jokes from time to time, and sleeps when not in use (although he can get annoying).
