Phone Home is a security device which sits at the back of your computer (not physically, just software!) without making any noises or showing any messages. At a user defined time, 'Phone Home ME' will dial a telephone number of your choice, preferably your own telephone number or the number which the modem is dialing FROM! Our Review: Phone Home is a very different Security program. When your computer has been stolen, Phone Home uses your computer's modem and internet connection to help you detect who has stolen it. At a certain time, the computer will try to dial your telephone number. If it was stolen, and you have Caller ID, this could be invaluable. Using the internet, it also has an option to 'disable' your computer when the thief attempts to connect to the net for the first time! Assuming it all works as well as it should, this might help you retrieve your computer after it has been stolen, or at the very least, foil the thief! It is very difficult to uninstall which is a bonus if your PC stolen, but a bane if it isn't!
