DLL Archive will search your system for all DLL files (or any other extension
you configure it to look for), and will then search another set of files to
verify that they don't contain references to the file in question; the end
result is you are left with a list of files that are more than likely unused
and just wasting space on your system!
Our Review: An excellent tool for cleaning up your hard drive of unwanted/unused DLL files. As most people who install a lot of software would know, when you uninstall software, some of its system files might not be deleted. This is due to several things: the uninstaller simply doesn't uninstall them, the user does not know where they are located, or they might be shared with other programs and the user will be cautious and not delete these files. Whatever the reason, DLL Archive will search all DLL files on your PC and check for their dependencies. Orphan files are listed in a window where you have the option of leaving them the way they are or archiving them to increase disk space. An excellent feature of DLL archive is that it will log the archived files with full path references. In the case of something going wrong, you can simply copy the file into its rightful place to restore the application requiring it. Just be cautious when doing this - it might stuff up your system. Nothing is totally fool-proof. This is FREE for anyone.
