Ping Monitor
The Ping Monitor program allows you to build a list of TCP/IP devices (computers, printers, etc) to verify their network connection. After issuing a ping request, the program waits for a reply then displays the Round-Trip Time (RTT) delay in milliseconds. In addition to monitoring your network connections, the Ping Monitor program can trigger alarms, send alert messages, or run a 3rd party utility when a ping request fails. Ping Monitor can send its own status to another computer on the network running the Remote Ping Monitor program (an add-on program sold separately). This functionality allows you to remotely verify that the Ping Monitor program is still monitoring. Also, the Ping Monitor program can keep your network connection alive, eliminating the aggrevating time-out received from various ISPs, when there is no network activity from your computer. Ping Monitor can also send its own status to another computer on the network. This is probably one of the most fully-featured ping programs available. The interface looks a little outdated but Ping Monitor makes up for it with its ability to save/print reports, display graphs, and trace the route to a host. All in all, a great program.
