Purge-It! heavily resides on the capability of the End-user. In order to deploy Purge-It! at its full strength the user needs to know at least the basics. Its up to the End-User to develop generic methods at monitoring the integrity of their system. Antivirus Software relies on Fingerprints which is inadequate for today's hacker tools. Those fingerprints are easily changeable/modifiable and your Antivirus Software will not react. This is where Purge-It! comes into play. Purge-it! allows the End-User to take a look inside his System, see what Programs are running, which Ports are open. The User does choose what happens to his system, and can clean himself from various Malware such as Backdoors, Trojans and Spyware. Our Review: Purge-it! is amazing. It was certainly designed for the intermediate to advanced user who would know the ins and outs of the system. Purge-it! allows you to monitor your system in several different windows. It can display the processes running, some registry settings, as well as current connections to your PC. From here its your choice what to do to protect your system. You can end processes individually (works like NT) and even monitor your ICQ client connections. Very good. Documentation is limited though and it would certainly make the app more user friendly. However, this comes with an extensive list of Common Trojans and there removal Details - an added bonus.
