sMaRTcaPs 4.0 is a Windows utility that completely eliminates all of the annoyances with the Caps Lock, Num Lock, and Insert keys. With sMaRTcaPs, there is no more ruined work, saving you time, money, and frustration. And it works in the background for all of your Windows 95 and later applications. sMaRTcaPs prevents all accidental touches of these keys yet still allows full functionality. An adjustable time delay is added to each key so it must be purposely held before it will toggle. Optional sound notifications will let you know exactly when each key has toggled states, not just when the key has been touched. Other options include 2 types of visual indicators for the Caps Lock and Num Lock keys, so that even notebook computers will clearly show each state. sMaRTcaPs will not only set the startup settings for these keys in systems that do not provide this capability, it will also give you sound notification of these startup states. Our Review: sMaRTcaPs is a small utility that delays the turning on and off of three annoying keys; Caps lock, Num lock and Insert. A voice tells you when each is changed and how. sMaRTcaPs will not correct bad use for the caps key, or revert to lowercase while your typing however; you still need to know what your doing. sMaRTcaPs gives the control to ignore accidental taps, and the state of the keys when starting. Useful little utility.
