Zap! HTML will compress html code anywhere from 1 to 50 %. On small files the compression will be minimal, but on large files it can be significant, making your pages load much faster. Zap! removes all information used for editing in the HTML file. This information is unneeded for viewing published pages. Our Review:Very easy to use compression software. Simply name the file you want compressed, then press go! Zap! provides basic statistics and a preview window so you can view you compressed file (to see if it still looks the same). The one feature lacking was the ability to compress whole directories at once - this is a must for large sites. I compressed the Yahoo! frontpage and got a 20% reduction in size - not too bad. |
